Welcome

More than a place to live. A place that lives.

Tucked west of the Tamiami Trail in the Vamo neighborhood of Sarasota, Pelican Cove was built between 1975 and 1981 — and shaped, year after year, by the people who chose to call it home.

Today it's a recognized award-winner for landscaping and management, minutes from Siesta Key Beach, the Legacy Trail, downtown Sarasota, restaurants, and shopping. But the truth most residents will tell you is simpler: once you're here, you stop wanting to be anywhere else.

On the water

An 86-slip harbor on sailboat water

Deepwater slips, a launch dock for kayaks and canoes, and a fishing pier where the dolphins put on a nightly show.

Under the canopy

5.5 miles of boardwalks and trails

Wind through live-oak hammocks draped in Spanish moss. The pileated woodpecker, our unofficial mascot, may keep you company.

Resort, year-round

Six heated pools, three clubhouses

Plus four lighted tennis courts, pickleball, shuffleboard, basketball, a hot tub, water-exercise classes, and fitness facilities.

Voices from the Cove

“Pelican Cove is a feast for the senses. The people who live here are like family — there is so much support, kindness, and laughter. I never have a minute to be bored or lonely.”
— E.B., Pelican Cove resident
